This is how the president of the B30 Area Association and the mayor of Mollet del Vallès, Josep Monràs, proposed as part of the meeting of the Group of Tolls held this morning in which the Minister of Territory and Sustainability, Josep Rull, has exposed the details of the Catalan vignette system that wants to eliminate the tolls from 2019.
At this meeting, counselor Rull explained the work being carried out by the Government of the Generalitat to work on the implementation of the vignette model, a flat rate that will allow to lift all the toll barriers in Catalonia.
In this sense, Josep Monràs, has requested that this fiscal proposal, which is currently only considered for tolls, be extended to the entire mobility system of the country and, therefore, it is necessary to find proposals for the rest of public mobility services.
On the other hand, the president of the Association Area B30 has also raised four issues to take into account in the specific case of the tolls that are: the use that is made of the route; the mileage; the type of vehicle both with regard to polluting vehicles and with respect to the power and type of vehicle; and finally if there is any alternative road or public transport.
It should be remembered that the Association elaborated a document prioritizing actions in infrastructures and mobility services of the B-30 corridor that includes the 62 actions, 30 on public transport and 32 on the road network, which consider priority in Mobility and infrastructure issues to promote the growth and economic development of the territory.
This study, resulting from many months of work of the Territorial Working Group (GTT) and with the support of the Diputació de Barcelona, began with the need to rethink what the basic and urgent requirements of the B-30 territory had to be. in the field of mobility, as well as to rethink the calendar of actions planned in the different sectoral plans (the General Plan for Infrastructure and Services of Catalonia, PGI, the ATM PDI, or the Plan of Neighborhoods), without involving the resignation of any of them.
The objective is to have a system of infrastructures and services of competitive mobility that allows connectivity and socio-economic cohesion as key factors for the integration of this territory into the global economy.
