Fifteen Town Councils take part in drawing up the Work Plan for the Circular Economy in Area B30

The session, entitled "The challenges of the circular economy in the local world and how to address them together", aimed to provide specific proposals to identify the joint axes of work with more potential to develop the Plan of Work of the circular economy in the territory of the B30.

A total of fifteen Town Councils took part in the first virtual meeting of this year of the Circular Action Network in Area B30 (XAC B30). The session, entitled “The challenges of the circular economy in the local world and how to address them together”, aimed to provide specific proposals to identify the joint axes of work with more potential to develop the Plan of Work of the circular economy in the territory of the B30. The session has become a participatory forum of an open and practical nature aimed especially at the technical staff of the councils.

The XAC B30 project, led by the Àmbit B30 Association, is created with the aim of strengthening alliances and collaboration between change agents who are already working on the revitalization of the circular economy within the B30 territory. to support existing initiatives and scale circular experiences that reach the 23 municipalities that make it up. To this end, the XAC B30 team has met with some of these local agents and has begun to identify needs and proposals in recent months. Now, during this 2021, priority will be given to the lines of work and possible circular actions in the territory.

During the session, it was highlighted that local bodies play a key role as facilitators of circular economy strategies in the surrounding territory. But it is also clear that they are struggling to make ends meet. These include the limited resources available to city councils, the necessary specific training for technical staff, or the lack of coordination and networking inside and outside the city council.

In this sense, the XAC B30 has resources to provide expert support for some circular actions in the B30 territory. The session also served to identify those territorial initiatives in which the support of the project could be especially useful.
