Projects and success stories
Àmbit B30’s projects are always intended to have a real impact on the region and and to act as economic and regional engines. The ultimate goal is always to make the B30 area a benchmark, both for the attraction of investment from the region and for the search for international funding.
The ID program is an initiative of the Government of Catalonia that, with the collaboration of the university network, aims to contribute to the competitiveness and internationalization of the Catalan industrial network, attract talent and train holders of doctorate degrees to work with companies on R&D projects.
This Industrial Doctorate Plan has the economic support of the Government of Catalonia and of the Barcelona Nanotechnology Cluster in Bellaterra—the greatest concentration of infrastructure and researchers in the field of nanoscience and nanotechnology in Spain—as well as special assistance from the Severo Ochoa Centre of Excellence, the Catalan Institute of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (ICN2) and the Àmbit B30 Association, which reports on the advantages and outcomes of this plan to students and companies, and coordinates projects with research groups.
The Localret Consortium and the Àmbit B30 Association signed an agreement to develop an implementation strategy for high-capacity fiber-optic telecommunications networks in the industrial parks of the 23 municipalities of the Vallès Occidental, Vallès Oriental and Baix Llobregat regions, which are united by the B30.
The goal of the agreement is to work together to provide the best telecommunications connectivity to a region that houses 195 economic activity areas, with more than 6,500 hectares of industrial land, over 30,000 companies and 64 research centers.
The Àmbit B30 Association relies on the technical consulting from Localret to study broadband provision and define a coordinated strategy for the implementation of telecommunications networks that endow industrial parks with high-performance connectivity.
